Post cereals donates $12,500 to the Summit Squad

Updated: Oct 24, 2022

Eight weeks into a fund-raising endeavor to take 3 women to Mount Kilimanjaro, this team got the surprise of all surprises.

Unbeknownst to us, Grape-Nuts cereal spent the month of March looking for 10 female adventurers to support in honor of Women's History Month. They focused on money raising ventures on Go Fund Me to give away a total of $125,000 in honor of their 125th anniversary.

Grape-Nuts has a long history of fueling epic expeditions. The Post cereal sponsored Admiral Byrd's expedition of Antarctica in 1933 and powered Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay's history Everest climb. Now, they were looking for the next generation of explorers, and ultimately selected The Summit Squad as one of the 10 recipients to support!

To say we were surprised was an understatement! We are honored and grateful that Grape-Nuts selected us with a $12,500 donation to our trek this August. That money filled the goal to get the girls' travel and trek up the mountain satisfied!

Now, we are turning our attention to our give-back to the Marshall Plan for Moms. The Marshall Plan was created by Reshma Saujani, who founded Girls Who Code. Her Plan is re-investing in the economic recovery of women post-pandemic.

We are so honored that Grape-Nuts' donation has allowed us to now focus on our training for the 19,341' summit and our give back to The Marshall Plan For Moms.

Thank you, Grape-Nuts.

Safe to say, we all know what will be in our cereal bowls, as we continue to crush our training!
